What I ate Wednesday

I am so happy to be part of this community

I am pretty sure everyone here is just as food obsessed as me so there really isn't any reason for me to explain the post.

Yesterday was a very hot day! I went for my morning run only to be drenched in sweat and wanting to come home the second that I left the house. I however managed a little more than 9 miles (9.07 to be exact). It felt like an eternity and I didn't push myself due to the heat. Its funny, but in California we always have such nice weather so when its TOO hot or TOO cold we panic and don't know how to react.

I went back for my little sisters for their mile run. We ended up walking most of it because she kept complaining of a cramp in her side.

So after my run and drowning myself in much needed water I ate my typical breakfast:

Total cereal with half a banana, almond milk, and a homemade nut bar

Its strange how I can eat this every morning and never get tired of it, I am not sure but maybe its the fact that I come back from running sooo tired, that it just seems to hit the spot and saves me from eating my arm off.  LOL

Then I presumed to do 40 minutes of random stretching and cardio in the comfort of my own bedroom! That is always awesome since no one else can see me sweat.

After my cardio session, i presumed to eat two mini banana bites and a green smoothie:
Banana, carob powder, coconut water, pear, flax-seed and wheat bran.

Its funny how fast I actually inhaled that, sure it was a small mason jar, but boy it seemed like I took one sip and it was gone!

Lunch is actually one of my favorite meals because its the same thing: A peanut butter and jelly sandwich. For some reason these sandwiches make me the happiest person ever. I swear I could live off of them.

So a PB and banana sandwich, a corn on the cob, and a mango was lunch.
Note how I eat the corn one row at a time! My family thinks I'm weird for doing that.

Snack time: YAY snacks are my favorite. IDK if you noticed, but I have a thing for peanut butter! So I had some pistachios, a nectarine, and some peanut butter Puffins! All outside while reading my book.....

We went to the park, it was super hot so we came back home rather quickly, but at the park I ate an orange.....okay, okay, an orange AND an apple.........
Then I came home to make some dinner: PIZZA! makes everyone happy
My little sister hard at work rolling out her pizza dough
Me making everyone else's pizza because they are too lazy.

I ate half of my pizza (so imagine half of a personal pizza from a fast food chain) and some salad....
My pizza had: tomato sauce, tomatoes, onions, bell pepper, squash, and mushrooms....I also added basil and a bit of salt with nutritional yeast.

Then I wanted something salty.....

Because It was my little sister's friend birthday next week I made her cupcakes. I didn't eat any but I did have a serving of this wonderful stuff.....
After everyone went home we watched a movie called Hachiko
Its really emotional, and teaches you how to be loyal. All of us ended up with waterworks. I cried, but I didn't admit it......but I'm a huge crybaby
But I had some homemade ice cream to help me out...... :)

Yes, this is all the food I ate on ONE day.......Exercise make you hungry.

Lets talk about the loo.....

Lets not be childish right now and admit that everyone goes to the restroom.
If not, that would be very gross and I can imagine how angry a person must get from constipation....
So, now that we admit it, lets also talk about something else that is very personal to morning runners....
GOING TO THE RESTROOM BEFORE LEAVING THE HOUSE!

When you eat food like this.....

You eat a lot of fiber so your digestive system should work properly and your should have more than one bowel movement a day.

So, what happened to me this morning. I went for a run and left the house 30 minutes after I woke up to make sure that I was "empty". After doing so, I started my run, and thirty minutes into it, I realized I had a bit of a problem.
You guessed right, I wasn't empty.

Thankfully, I was running in my neighborhood, therefore I new where the closest restroom was. Unfortunately said restroom was about a mile and a half away. I slowly inched my way to the restroom. I would of ran my heart towards it, but I didn't want any unexpected visitors to drop in.

Get it? Drop in.... ahahah
Okay, I know, it was a dirty joke.....
Well gross

I finally got to the restroom but it was an emergency. I was relieved once I got there. I felt better and right after my pace started to pick up. I guess that why when you go to races, the bathroom are always being rushed because everyone is trying to get that out of the way first because they don't want to be held behind.
BTW.....

I went to Michaels the other day for an arts and crafts project
and I saw these wings that you tie to your shoes....
Do you think if I buy these for my shoes it would make me run faster?

Questions:

Have you every had to end your run short because of your bladder?

Do you like running in your neighborhood or elsewhere?

RED WHITE AND BLUE ice cream

Fourth of July is a day of celebrating all things wonderful.....such as homemade ice cream!!!!
We had quiet a few guest come over, and my mom had these empty Gerber bottles that she was saving for a craft project, but I saw she wasn't doing anything with them, so I decided to steal them!!!

MUAHAHAHAHA

Ok, enough of the creepy laugh....
I looked in the freezer and I saw: frozen blueberries, frozen cherries, and frozen bananas!!!! What more can a girl want on a day where we need recipes involving red, white, and blue.
The first step was to wash all the little jars....Can't feed people off dirty plates
That's just NASTY!
Step number two.....
I made cherry ice cream: I blended frozen cherries, carob powder, like 5 dates, and almond milk
this created my base.

I continued to do the same thing with the banana and the blueberry layers
yes, I forgot to take pictures of those.
But fear not, I will still tell you how I made each layer.
For the banana layer I mixed: bananas (duh), coconut water, agave syrup and cinnamon.
Then for the blueberry layer I mixed: blueberries, dates, almond milk and some blue food coloring because it was turning purple (I was getting kinda mad because they are called BLUEBERRIES not PURPLEberrries). So I also thew a banana in the blender and it lightened the color some.

This was what the final product looked like. It was good, the fact that each little jar was individually separated made dessert time so easy and mess free. We didn't have to worry about scooping out ice cream or anything.

Breakfast was also awesome on fourth of July! My mom said she wanted the typical American breakfast: pancakes, eggs, sausage, hash browns and an added factor: fruit. So after I went for a run, I came back home and was a slave to the kitchen. AHA
I made her all the trimmings and decided to make myself some chocolate pancakes and ate mostly all the fruit myself. what can I say, I have a sweet tooth.

PS. fruit and syrup taste very well together

Don't be fooled by this plate, it was my first helping out of two.....well maybe out of three and a few more nibbles from the bowl.

Nuts

Happy belated fourth of July everyone. I'll recap what happened later on.

I just have one question, don't you hate when you are eating peanuts and they go from this.....

To this? I swear, I'm worse than a chipmunk.

Hard Run

Today was a beautiful day outside.

Everything was working in my favor; it wasn't so hot when I woke up, I WOKE UP EARLY, and I actually felt rested. I was planning on running at least 10 miles today. However, that was not going to happen. I started out with my slow jog (the first mile is always the slowest) and when I checked my Garmin at around 30 min. I was STILL going by really slow.

Part of me was mad because I did a very good job yesterday and consistently ran at a faster than normal pace despite the droopy heat. But the other part.....

TMI WARNING!!!

...was okay with running slow because its that TOTM. So I figured, its amazing that I am running at all. So after I tricked myself into running 9.23 miles I headed home to pick up my sisters for their mile run. We finished and I quickly ate my Total cereal with milk and half a banana.

I think I'm going to read for a while, before we head off to Costco to buy items for 4th of July.

Random picture of the day.....I Waste So Much Time
Who needs a water-belt when you can just do this around your neighborhood? I'm pretty sure you can poke a hole when you pass by and sip up. I bet it would be a whole lot easier than anything else!

Question:

Does anyone think fireworks are a waste?

I kinda feel iffy about them. There pretty (sometimes) but they send off a lot of smoke that stays trapped in the house if we forget (has happened more than once) to close the windows. It bugs me, but  the excitement of lighting them up is also--somewhat fun.

What I ate Wednesday

Hello everyone, this shall be my very first WIAW!
I'm actually kind of excited because I do eat a lot and an quiet obsessed with food and have been stalking everyone's page for a while.

To note: I happen to eat A LOT!!! I am not embarrassed by the amount I eat, but it does tend to shock some people.
Today's Exercise:
I went for a run in the extreme heat today! It was 9.66 miles, note that I do not run fast, but I can go for the distance.
Then I went for my sisters and went for a mile with them. We walked a bit, but they are little and just starting.

Enter a really sweaty person

Breakfast:
*I forgot to take a picture, Epic fail
But it was simply a bowl of Corn flakes, almond milk, half a banana
I also had one of these Larabars (Recipe under snacks)

Then I did some random exercises around the house, washed the dishes, and stretched a little. I usually forgo the stretching, but I notice that I don't wake up in the middle of the night due to some muscle spasm when I do stretch, so I try to make it part of the routine.

Morning snack:

I had a green smoothie, that I also share with my sisters. Its basically a small mason jar full of spinach, soy milk, bananas, pear, and lots of carob powder. I feel that carob powder has a stronger flavor than cocoa.
I also had a "banana bite" and 1 rice cake. We recently bought them and I just had to try them.

Lunch time came along, I was starving! So I quickly placed my leftovers in the microwave. Crazy how LOOOOONG those two minutes of heating food up can take.
Tofu mixed with veggies
A piece of corn on the cob. I'm weird and eat it one row at a time.
Various bowls of watermelon (I think I ate half the watermelon while cutting it alone!)
My mom was eating some peanut so I decided to join in on the fun!
It would be rude not too!

After lunch, I was pretty full. I started to read a book, then we walked to the park and I played tag with my sisters. Then, I got tired and pushed them on the swings and then we walked back home. I was ready for a quick fix so I had a nectarine and some pistachios

I only ate one, and it wasn't any of the funny looking ones. AHA

Then I rushed to the store and I bought some avocado to make sushi. I had approximately two veggie rolls and a plateful of salad with Italian dressing.

After dinner, we played Jenga. Which is actually a pretty stressful game. Then we went to Yogurtland. But they don't have any soy yogurt. Luckily, there is a Bristol Farms right next door so I purchased one of these babies!!

I ate half the pint! It was soo good.
Then, we played a Harry Potter board game. My friend, went home and I was about to go to sleep but remembered that I forgot to take my vitamins (which I always take with food) so I grabbed an apple and a bowl of cereal to wind down.
